University of Warwick, United Kingdom University of Warwick Full time

Full time, fixed-term contract for 2 years.
WMG is a vibrant, cutting-edge research institution at the University of Warwick. We currently have a great opportunity for a Research Fellow to conduct in depth research within the field cathode active materials, in particular the synthesis and characterisation thereof.
Lithium-ion technology is an ever-expanding area of research and development, specifically the continuing advancement of cathode materials, with new materials demonstrating capacity in excess of 250 mAhr/g. The Copley Group are looking to complement on-going internal research with a Research Fellow, who would have responsibility to contribute towards our advancements and interface with external partners on identifying future opportunities.
We are looking for someone with significant experience in:

- Inorganic materials synthesis - hydrothermal, solvothermal, solid state, precipitation, mechanochemical and/or sol gel.
- Characterisation of inorganic materials - TEM/SEM, XRD, PSD, BET/BJH, XPS, XRF etc.
- Building and maintaining standard operating procedures and generating process documentation.

We will provide a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure (£31,411).
