This is an exciting time for Social Work at Warwick with a decision to invest in new academic posts to support our growth ambitions. Opportunities have arisen to join our dynamic Social Work team within the Centre for Lifelong Learning.
We have a long-established history of delivering quality research-inspired social work education and continually strive to embrace pedagogical innovation and practice currency in our programmes. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and committed individual who holds a professional qualification in social work, and eligibility for registration with Social Work England.
You will have a demonstrable commitment to developing excellence in teaching and scholarship. You will be expected to promote and represent the University and the discipline regionally and nationally. Some delivery will be off-campus (for example, in the Leicester area) and therefore you will need to be willing to travel to other teaching locations.
We are looking for a committed team player to join our friendly team with evidence of developing academic ability. Your ongoing development will be important to us, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Social Work to enhance your potential and achieve your aims.

**JOB PURPOSE**
The responsibilities of a Teaching Fellow are wide ranging and may change due to the needs of the Centre. The purpose of this post is to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching and other scholarly activities in social work and contribute to the University’s key goals as outlined in the University Strategy 2018-2030. All staff are expected to contribute to the range of activities within the Centre for Lifelong Learning.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
You will play a key role in contributing to Social Work’s portfolio by maintaining its high standards of teaching; with particular focus, in the first instance, on the Degree Apprenticeship in Social Work. You will be expected to possess experience and expertise in professional Social Work across a range of service user groups and settings, and working collaboratively across disciplines, and in facilitating the involvement of service users in service provision.
The responsibilities of a Teaching Fellow post holder will comprise of a combination of the following:
1. Contribute to the design, delivery, and assessment of core modules in undergraduate social work and related interdisciplinary courses aligned to the staff member’s area of expertise.
2. Take responsibility as a module leader, and fulfil associated duties for designated modules, including designing student support materials, and maintaining learning and assessment platforms (Moodle and OneFile).
3. Maintain sustainable links with existing employer partners and stakeholders.
4. Actively participate in the Centre’s governance processes to ensure the highest quality performance.
5. Undertake course administrative duties as specified, including admissions activities.
6. Be involved in the ongoing quality review and improvement of the degree programmes and contribute to new modules/ courses commensurate with the mission and strategic plan of the Centre.
7. Contribute to course management and collaborative activity, including tasks such as mentoring and peer observation.
8. Be accountable for his/her/ their own professional updating and maintenance of their eligibility for SWE registration.
9. Contribute to scholarship in social work, pedagogy, and knowledge exchange activities
10. Any other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post.
