Applications are invited for a fulltime, permanent position for either a Teaching Fellow or Assistant Professor on a Teaching Focussed Academic Career Pathway.

We actively encourage our teaching focussed staff to engage in research alongside teaching and this is reflected in a new Assistant/Associate Professor (teaching focussed) promotions pathway from which several of our current staff have benefited. The initial level of appointment will depend on the current level of experience.

The post is responsible to the Head of Department.

**JOB PURPOSE**

You will undertake teaching, administration and other activities supporting the work of the Department of Psychology, developing and enhancing its reputation both internally and externally.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. To contribute to undergraduate and post graduate teaching in the Department of Psychology.

2. To develop and present lectures, seminars, tutorials and other classes, either face-to-face or online, as appropriate in support of the required teaching obligations.

3. To develop your own teaching materials, methods and approaches with guidance from colleagues in the Department.

4. To take on project supervision, to provide advice on study skills, and to assist those with learning problems.

5. To ensure that teaching meets the high standards expected within the Department.

6. To undertake academic duties (i.e. setting examination questions, marking, providing constructive feedback, invigilation and pastoral support).

7. To support and comply with the University and Departmental teaching quality assurance standards and procedures.

8. To complete all relevant training and learning modules as required.

**Administration and Other Activities**

1. To undertake such specific departmental roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the Head of Department.

2. To attend departmental meetings and to participate in other committees and working groups within the Department, the Faculty and the University.

3. To ensure compliance with health and safety and data protection in all aspects of work.
