WBS is a research-led, triple-accredited university-based business school with a portfolio of world-class programmes.
At WBS, the Accounting Group deliver a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. They provide learning support to students and supervise graduate student projects.
You will have practical experience in university level teaching and be comfortable teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will have experience of designing and delivering modules and using innovative ‘cutting edge’ teaching, learning support and assessment methods. The ability and experience of teaching in areas of leadership and innovative creativity would be advantageous.
You will have the potential to identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and contribute to the planning, design and development of new modules. Your approach will challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical thinking.

**Job Purpose**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Teaching and Learning Support**:
- Use appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, field trips and placements, where appropriate.
- Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement.
- Contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material.
- Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide timely feedback to students.
- Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding, as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media.
- Have academic ownership for modules.
- Where required act as the leader of an element of study (such as a course, module, programme, etc.), usually to a limited degree, for example, where it is a small programme.
- Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
**Research and Scholarship**:
- May conduct individual or collaborative scholarly projects.
- May be called upon to contribute to the identification of sources of funding and the process of securing funds for scholarly activities.
- Develop and produce learning materials and disseminate the results of scholarly activity.
**Administration and Other Activities**:
- Participate in, and develop internal and external networks for example, may contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities.
- Act as a personal tutor.
- Be responsible for the pastoral care of students within a specified area.
- Undertake specific departmental roles as may be required.
- May be expected to attend departmental meetings and to participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups within the department, the faculty and the University.
- Participate in relevant professional activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work and, where appropriate, undertake risk assessments.
