University of Warwick, United Kingdom University of Warwick Full time

Permanent Position, 36.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Can you inspire the next generation of engineers, as part of full-time undergraduate engineering and innovative Degree Apprenticeship programmes? Do you have the ability to develop innovative teaching and learning practices?

Underpinned by the breadth, depth and quality of its research, WMG offers a wide range of courses at all levels for full-time and part-time students, and for company-based personnel from companies such as Airbus, Aston Martin, Dyson, JLR and Rolls Royce, resulting in a wide range of delivery to satisfy our broad client base.

With significant academic and industrial experience in the field of Advanced Engineering Materials and Manufacturing Processes, you will join the Design, Materials and Manufacturing discipline group of WMG in the delivery of innovative teaching and learning practices for the full-time undergraduate and Degree Apprenticeship programmes. You will undertake teaching in the fields of material science and engineering and the associated manufacturing process technologies from traditional and innovative perspectives that include digital manufacturing. You will be involved in the design, organisation, delivery, management and administration of teaching programmes, in addition to the supervision of undergraduate and MSc students in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment.

The teaching and learning environment is rapidly evolving, with a distinct shift to a greater level of engagement utilising technology enabled learning, project-based learning, blended learning and lab-based sessions, as well as more traditional lectures. You will need to demonstrate skills that enable this as well as the flexibility to adapt and innovate your approach to teaching and learning to advance this evolution. Flexibility to contribute across other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes would be a distinct advantage, as well as a willingness to contribute to strategic growth of new programmes as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop your own professional profile and work as part of a successful team, contributing to the development of its teaching and learning activities. In return we will provide a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.
