Research Fellow
Full time (36.5 hours per week) Permanent position.
The Institute for Employment Research (IER) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Research Fellow to contribute to developing and enhancing its reputation as an internationally leading, multi-disciplinary research-only institute. IER has a strong international reputation for its research on work, employment and labour markets. IER is a separate, self-funded research department within the Faculty of Social Sciences at Warwick. It delivers high-quality research, externally funded by a range of public and private sector organisations and research councils, with its findings disseminated to academic, policy and practitioner communities.
This is an opportunity for a researcher who wants to make a difference with their research by getting involved in policy-relevant research. You will have a PhD or equivalent relevant research experience in the economic and social sciences. You will have established quantitative research skills, preferably with experience of working in a mixed methods research environment and have some knowledge of employment and related policy and academic and policy-relevant labour market research. You will have appropriate research and publications in your field, and it will be advantageous to have some experience of dissemination activities with different stakeholders: academic and otherwise. Research Fellows have the opportunity to gain experience in designing and conducting research projects and in disseminating findings. They are encouraged to develop their research skills and to publish in academic journals.
If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure (£32,411). Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£33,348).
