I am currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join an exciting business in Chester on an interim basis. This is a great opportunity to learn some new skills in a busy accounts function.
**Client Details**
My client are currently going from strength to strength in the Accountancy world at the minute and as a result they are now looking for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join them on an interim basis to help them through their current busy period.
**Description**
The key responsibilities of the successful Payroll Assistant will be:
- Knowledge of statutory & legislative regulations
- Compliance with Internal Policies & Procedures
- Data Integrity & Self review of client data prior to issue of information to clients / third parties
- An ability to communicate at all levels - both internal & external in a prompt manner
- Understand the payroll deadlines & client requirements - ensure processing notes are updated & maintained
- Clear & concise communication, both written & verbal
- An ability to work independently & as part of the wider team
- Previous payroll experience essential
- Knowledge of UK Tax legislation
- Microsoft & Excel skills

Essential
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade C & Above)
- Previous Payroll knowledge
- Understand UK tax legislation
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Knowledge of month end & year-end returns & balancing
- Ability to perform manual calculations as & when required
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
Desirable
- CIPP Payroll qualification or be willing to attain
- At least two years knowledge of working in a multi frequency payroll environment.
