Graduate Project Leader

This client is an internationally recognized manufacturer, distributing throughout the globe. They are a big believer in sustainability and have their main manufacturing based in the UK. The company currently manufactures products with their own label whichis well known in more than 40 countries.
The company has made its reputation based on producing quality and value for money products and offering these in high-quality, high-profile packaging. Producing automotive aftercare and body repair products under their own brand names, more recently a rangeof homecare products have been successfully introduced to their lines.
**PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
An exciting new opportunity to work alongside the senior management team on a range of projects based around the business including sustainability. You will have the opportunity to be a part to the changes and will support all activity surrounding each projectto ensure they are successful and meet deadlines.
**ONBOARDING**:
This will include learning the foundations of the products, project management, planning and procurement, purchasing, costs, materials management, client interaction, developing and maintaining relationships with different departments and stakeholders.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**This role will be split into Project Management and Sustainability responsibilities.**
**Project Management (70%)**
- Coordinate and manage projects already in situ
- Initiate key projects in line with the company plan, this could be anything from new products through to changes in the business and manufacturing area of the business
- Check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources
- Carry out planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of you’re the FIRM.
- Lead and motivate anyone involved in the project including internal and external stakeholders/suppliers
- Manage the project, keeping the project on budget
- Carry out monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the project
- Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time
- Implement any necessary changes throughout the process
- Report regularly to management
- Close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for your next project.
**Sustainability (30%)**
- Managing projects already in place focused around the business (currently in place are a project based around solar panel and fluid designed to reduce waste or improve energy efficiency)
- Managing projects designed to reduce waste/improve sustainability
- Ensuring the firm meets all applicable environmental guidelines on each project
- Be involved in the creation of messages based on the intended audience and business goals
- Encouraging internal and external stakeholders to adopt and practice environmentally conscious operating procedures
- Contribute to the Net Zero Carbon glidepath targeting decarbonization by 2040
You will be invited to bring in your own ideas for projects that could make a positive change to the operation and business brand, encouraged to use initiative and offered opportunities to travel abroad should a project require it.
**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:
- Degree educated - Relevant to role. Ie - Geography, Environmental Science, Chemical Science, Business, Project Management
- Project management/planning skills - can be demonstrated through study or proven work experience
- Experience working in a project management/sustainability environment would be advantageous
- Driven, motivated and ambitious
- Good IT skills especially with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and be solutions orientated
- Ability to work well and achieve deadlines
- Excellent organisation skills
- Experience in building strong working relationships and able to manage working relationships with clients/suppliers
- Polite and professional manner
- Trustworthy
- A team player, flexible and approachable
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to adapt and change plans as the requirements of the situation change

**HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm
