**Faculty / Directorate**
The newly established Apprenticeships Directorate has the development and delivery of high-quality apprenticeships at its heart. The Directorate is the link between employers, apprentices and university staff. Focused on making a difference in people's livesand the success of businesses and the economy.
We work with a wide range of stakeholders including local and national businesses from large multi-national organisations to small and medium-sized enterprises. Developing apprenticeship programmes that are designed to address skills gaps, develop futuretalent and support employers to increase productivity through workforce development.
**Role**
De Montfort University has set out a clear and ambitious agenda for increasing regional and national business engagement, in support of its aspiration to be positioned as the definition of a twenty-first-century global university.
The Apprenticeships Directorate works with external organisations and businesses to help up-skill their workforce, attract new talent and empower employability and skills-focused learning.
The Apprenticeships Lead Officer (Engagement), will promote the university’s apprenticeship provision and maximise opportunities related to the university’s current apprenticeship portfolio. The role holder will manage and build relationships with internaland external stakeholders to strengthen and expand the university’s apprenticeship portfolio in line with the strategic targets for growth. They will share best practice and develop staff expertise across the university thereby improving business continuityand maximising efficiency and growth.
The position is on a full time basis (37 hours per week), fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave initially for a period of 6 months.
Having a passion for delivering a first-class customer experience and high-quality service is essential. You will excel at maintaining strong employer relationships and maximising all opportunities for new apprenticeship starts and repeat business. You willhave a thorough understanding of apprenticeships and the benefits they offer to employers, apprentices and the university.
