Glasgow, United Kingdom CrossReach Full time

Based in Springburn in Glasgow, Short Breaks is a fantastic service offering family focused support for children and young adults with additional or complex needs. We offer residential short breaks for children and young people from 5 years to 21 years old. It enables children and young people to enjoy time away from home taking part in a range of activities, making friends and developing their independence.

Through a popcorn and movie night with a familiar film, playing a favourite game in the garden or by providing the right sensory environment, our team works i partnership with families to create a home away from home experience based on the needs of the young person. It is a safe, purpose built environment where children and young people's needs and preferences are at the heart of what we offer. With full access to our sensory room, hydrotherapy spa pool, art and crafts room and large enclosed garden, it is a great environment for our team as well as our children.

Due to an increased demand for our service we are now looking for child focused, team players to join us on a relief basis.

In this exciting role you will provide the care and support appropriate to our fantastic children and young people. You will put them at the heart of what you do and ensure that you plan and implement activities to meet the individual needs and aspirations of every young person. You will ensure what we provide the highest quality of care everyday and night, so that our children feel safe, secure and well cared for. You will ensure that care plans are carried out, including the administration of medication, and model excellent social care practice.

This is a hands on role so you will be involved in the general day to day support and care (including personal care) of our children. You will act as a key worker to identified children and contribute to the setting up, carrying out and reviewing of care plans. You will support the families and carers of the young people and empower our children to access local services and leisure opportunities.

Ideally you will be qualified to SVQ 2 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and have previous experience administering medication and previous experience working with children. But what is essential is that you are a positive, pro active team player who has a real passion for making a difference in the lives of the children we support. We are a great team, who take a real pride in what we do, so we need a like minded person to join us on a relief basis.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
