**The Role**
The successful Purchasing Officer will be responsible for:

- Supporting Indirect Buyer to carry out existing purchasing practices
- Liaison between the business departments and suppliers for indirect purchases
- Raising & Managing Purchase Orders on SAP system from internal Purchase Requisitions
- Confirming stakeholder requirements and specifications to management of supplier Order Acknowledgements; communicating effectively within department KPIs to stakeholders to achieve on-time delivery dates
- Expediting of Indirect purchase orders & monitoring of consolidated orders
- Support Indirect Buyer to negotiate prices & obtain quotations from suppliers to achieve annual cost saving opportunities
- Lead service contracts (SLAs) & support Indirect Buyer to create specifications for RFQ/RFI

**The Individual**
The successful Purchasing officer will:

- Have experience working in a Purchasing role supporting indirect purchases, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in Purchase Order administration, ideally using SAP system, and will have built up experience of supplier engagement, negotiations and cost reduction.
- The role will be part of a small UK Purchasing team and as such you must to be able to work to tight deadlines, well-organised, self-motivated having a good sense of priority and have a flexible approach to tasks.
