**Job Summary**
Job overview:
The Housing Support Officer will provide essential support to tenants in managing their housing needs and ensuring they are supported to live independently. This role involves assessing tenant needs, providing moral support, coordinating maintenance, managing license agreements, and referring tenants to relevant services. Additionally, the Housing Support Officer will assist tenants in their move-on plans, ensuring they are well-prepared to transition to independent living. The Housing Support Officer will undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering and arranging high quality support and personal development opportunities. To flexibly respond to individual needs and aspirations and assist individuals to have the maximum opportunities to direct the support provided in order to live as independent as possible. Providing structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each person’s developmental support plan and in a way that equips people with the confidence and skills to live independent and sustainable lives wherever they are residing.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for tenants, identifying individual challenges, support requirements and assist on their goals for independent living.
- Hold regular check-ins weekly with tenants to monitor their progress and offer emotional support.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to help tenants build self-sufficiency and problem-solving skills.
- Educate tenants on their responsibilities under their housing agreements.
- Regularly monitor tenant’s compliance with license agreements and address any breaches or issues promptly.
- Make appropriate referrals for tenants to healthcare services, mental health support, and employment resources.
- Guide tenants to educational opportunities and training programs to improve their prospects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tenant interactions, progress, referrals, and actions taken.

**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a housing management role or similar position is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to mediate conflicts effectively.
- Familiar with the use of IT.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery.
**Essential Skills & Qualifications**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of housing-related legislation and regulations.
- Experience in providing support to vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to assess and address tenant needs, including financial and emotional support.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and property management practices.
- Experience in social housing or support work.
- Knowledge of local housing benefit systems.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with external agencies and organisations.
- Previous experience with tenant onboarding or property inspections.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
