Birmingham, United Kingdom Clear Housing Ltd Full time

**About the Role**
We’re looking for a reliable and supportive person to join our team at Clear Housing Ltd as a **Housing Support Officer**. You'll be working directly with residents in shared accommodation, providing day-to-day support and helping them build the confidence and skills they need to live more independently.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same — you’ll be supporting people with a range of needs, including mental health challenges, learning difficulties, and other vulnerabilities. If you're someone who’s approachable, organised, and genuinely wants to make a difference in people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Support residents in developing life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and managing appointments.
- Provide emotional support and motivation, helping residents work through personal challenges.
- Make sure the accommodation is safe, clean, and well-maintained — report repairs and follow up where needed.
- Carry out assessments to understand each resident’s situation, strengths, and goals.
- Create personalised support plans with residents, setting realistic goals and reviewing progress regularly.
- Work closely with external agencies like GPs, mental health teams, and social services to coordinate extra support.
- Keep clear and accurate records of support plans, progress notes, and any incidents.
- Monitor the general wellbeing of residents and respond appropriately to any concerns or emergencies.
- Help ensure the house runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Experience working with vulnerable people, ideally in supported housing or social care.
- Confident in managing risk and responding to challenging situations calmly.
- Able to build trust with people from different backgrounds.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Organised and able to keep on top of paperwork.
- A caring, patient, and non-judgmental approach.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations.

**Preferred Qualifications & Training**
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or a related field.
- Training in safeguarding, first aid, or mental health awareness is a plus.

Pay: £38,700.00 per year

**Benefits**:

- Canteen
- Company events
- Company pension
- Free parking
- On-site parking

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Application question(s):

- Are you comfortable with and able to drive to different properties 2-3 days a week as part of this role?

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: In person
