**About Blackburn Youth Zone**

Blackburn Youth Zone is a 21st century youth hub located at the heart of Blackburn, open to young people aged 5 to 25 years old, aiming to change the prospects offered to young people in the area. Our vision is to be at the heart of the community, collaborating to create a more cohesive and prosperous Blackburn and Darwen.

Blackburn Youth Zone is built on land where, 100 years ago, Blackburn’s first electricity generating station once stood. On the place where electricity first came to and powered the town, the Youth Zone is now powering the community through the energy and creativity of young people. What also makes us distinctive is our relationship with thelocal business community, who have wholeheartedly embraced the concept and pledged to work together to raise the aspirations of our town’s young people, equipping them with life skills, increased confidence and independence which in turn will regenerate our town from the bottom up.

We are one of the leading youth organisations in Blackburn, with a membership of over 2,500 young people. We are open 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year and offers over 40 different activities and opportunities in our open access youth club.

**Main Purpose**

To deliver and develop quality targeted programmes across B&DYZ Universal and Targeted service. You will have responsibility to manage a caseload of children and young people who have been referred into the Youth Zone from services supporting the most vulnerable children and young people such as, Multi Agency Panels, Children's Social Care and Schools etc. Each case will require a programme of work developing and delivering to support their vulnerabilities and to work alongside the family and partners services to enable the child/yp to make positive choices for themselves and engage more safely and constructively in universal provision as they progress to adulthood. Children and young people will be assessed and supported through a wide range of programmes best suited to their needs. For example 1:1 work, mentoring, small Targeted Support group, Nurture groups.

You will need to understand the different levels of need and ways to provide and arrange effective interventions and referral pathways to specialist services to ensure the best quality care is being provided. The individual will need to work independently and think creatively to shape their own delivery and ability to deliver and lead targeted workers in delivering evidence based programmes, monitoring and evaluating and compiling quality reports.

To deliver and develop a quality ‘Stay Safe’ provision within our open access Universal and Targeted service. Children and young people aged 8 to 21 years old are invited to engage in a wide array of enriching activities and opportunities. You will respond effectively to any safeguarding and welfare concerns, taking immediate action to best safeguard and protect young people and complete all required records (accurately and timely) as specified in the clubs Safeguarding and Child Protection policy. You will be required to respond effectively to behaviour incidents within the club and deliver informal sessions which are a direct response to young people's needs. You will be required to deliver intervention projects for vulnerable and ‘at risk’ young people.

**Main Responsibilities**
- To deliver a high quality programme of positive activities and targeted intervention support and activities -including group activities, 1-1, family and professional meetings.
- To create programmes and opportunities which provide tangible outcomes for young people which leads to greater prospects, improved health, wellbeing, education, skills, aspirations and social cohesion. To maintain a good und
