This job offers an exciting opportunity for someone to take on a key role for Young Peoples Services in the Targeted Youth Support Team (TYS)
Targeted Youth Support offers bespoke intervention and prevention support programmes to children and young people aged between 8 and 19 years. Each TYS worker is allocated a designated caseload and will work with other key professionals (Social Workers and other Adolescent Team staff) to develop and deliver programmes of activities and informal education to challenge and support their identified needs and enable them to make better life choices and achieve to their full potential.
This role will involve working with each child/young person individually and in groups – planning and delivering enjoyable and constructive activity sessions as a means to develop positive relationships – which are key to aiding personal development of your caseload.
You will be responsible for all relevant logistical and health and safety requirements. (Risk Assessments, Trip Management, safeguarding etc).
The role will also involve entering data and intervention logs on Children's Service's specialised data management systems (and any other service specific recording systems), creating bespoke action plans that compliment and contribute to wider Children's Service plans (CAF, CiN, CP) and when required act as lead professional to co-ordinate multi-agency responses from both internal and external organisations and departments.
This role will also involve supporting the Positive Activities Team. This team delivers a range of outdoor and adventurous activities that support the TYS team and the wider service as well as developing/delivering bespoke packages for a number of partner organisations (schools VCFS orgs etc). There will also be the opportunity to work alongside the Participation (Youth Voice) and SEND Inclusion service areas too.
To develop and sustain high levels of participation in positive activities, informal education, youth work and leisure from an allocated caseload of vulnerable children/young people and to a range of partners as required
To ensure the service retains and adheres to key outdoor operational licences
To sustain partnerships with local partners and agencies to develop income and fundraising opportunities in relation to positive activities
