**Job Title**:Accounts Assistant.
**Reports To**:Group Financial Controller and Senior Accounts Assistant.
**Job Purpose**:
Sovereign Turf Ltd and Town & Country Turf Ltd are a well-established farming and horticultural business based in Suffolk.
Based at the head office, the Accounts Assistant will support the Group Financial Controller in the efficient running of the accounts function. However, will work under the guidance of the Senior accounts assistant. The Accounts assistant plays a key role in ensuring the accounts office functions effectively in line with both senior management and customer’s expectations.

**The Person**:
We are looking for a friendly team player that can positively contribute to the wider business. To meet peak seasonal demands, you will be able to work under pressure while appropriately prioritising tasks.
You will be able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in both data inputting and reporting.
**Key Responsibilities**:
a) Purchase ledger duties to include: scanning/saving, coding and posting of purchase invoices, payments, account maintenance and statement reconciliations.
b) Sales ledger duties to include: raising invoices, customer receipts and basic credit control.
d) Expense claims.
e) Any other ad hoc administration duties as required by the company.
**With a view to expand into the following in time**:
f) Entering bank payments, receipts and performing bank reconciliations.
g) Maintaining intercompany reconciliations and recharges.
h) Reviewing and carrying out VAT returns (monthly and quarterly).
**Main Working Relationships**:
The Account Assistant is a key member of the team who interfaces with a number of stakeholders:
- The first point of contact for customers, both trade and domestic.
- Directors, senior managers, and employees within the business and wider group.
This role is full time with the working day starting at 8.30am and ending at 5pm with a half an hour unpaid lunch break.
**Experience**
- Experience of working in a similar role within a multi-company environment.
- A good understanding of Sage50 accounting system.
- Good working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to interpret numbers and financial information.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £26,000.00 per year
