Head of Data Analytics

In this fantastic role you will transform the way Data and analytics is deployed within the organisation, with the goal of driving agility and enabling growth. As Head of Data you'll own end-to-end Data strategy and make sure it's execution builds capabilitiesand delivers value.

For success in this role you’ll need to be proficient delivering end-to-end data management concepts and have a strong understanding of all aspects of data governance, including data quality management, metadata management and tools, data architecture andtechnology. Moreover, you’ll be experienced in defining, designing, and implementing policies, standards, guidelines, tools, metrics and standards for data management and governance framework and most importantly are able to lead cultural change in the waydata is used and governed in businesses.

You will be leading a growing team with an evolving operating model and therefore we are looking for an exceptional leader who can lead high performing teams and develop a clear operating model which is shared with both the team and stakeholders.

**Selection of responsibilities**:

- Leading an internal specialist data team, focusing on engagement with business leaders and their teams
- Transforming the way in which the organisation uses Data and analytics to drive operational agility and enable growth
- Training, mentoring and coaching a team with presence and impact.
- Owning and driving the overall Data Strategy
- Lead the design, build, and implementation of successful data solutions through the effective use of business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Interface with the Executive Leadership Team and other senior leadership to identify innovative uses of data.
- Guide the day-to-day activities of the data platform, engineering, and analytics team, including hiring world class talent, reviewing work and setting goals.
- Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads as a hands-on manager.
- Responsible for defining Data Governance Strategy that supports and enables the achievement of overall ambitions and outcomes and underpins how data is governed.
- Embed a culture and methods, of data governance by design into processes, working practices and behaviours, bringing transparency and auditability to all data processes.
- Through effective engagement and partnering with colleagues across the entire institution, embed a culture of safe, responsible, and ethical use of data, whilst maintaining appropriate freedom to innovate and experiment.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor a road map of Data Governance enhancements, developing maturity levels in line with business appetite.
- Lead the Data Governance community and have oversight of the effective function of all working groups in the Data Governance model, ensuring topics of strategic and operational importance are identified and addressed.

**Selection of skills**:

- A comprehensive understanding of the information lifecycle, and information management including architecture, delivery and business facing aspects
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience of Data strategy & business value driven execution plans
- Excellent knowledge of Data Management principles - data governance (data quality, data lineage, master data management, data modelling & design, meta-data and data security)
- Familiarity with wider Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, SQL server) and Azure cloud technologies (data factory, data lake, Synapse, Devops)
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to explain data concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
- Experience of managing a portfolio of Data change initiatives and associated capacity management working alongside strategic delivery partners

The position is hybrid although requires c1-2 onsite (central Birmingjam) days per week. Salary £60,000 - £70,000 + benefits
