This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled
Data Engineer
to play a key role in shaping and strengthening our organisation's data engineering and analytics capability within a modern
AWS-based environment
. We're looking for someone with hands-on expertise across
AWS services, Airflow, Python, and SQL
, who can help build the data foundations that power insight-led decision-making across the business.

You'll join a small, supportive team, working closely with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, practical solutions that make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable
    ETL/ELT pipelines
    using
    Airflow
    and AWS services such as
    S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and Athena
    .
  • Integrate new data sources and continuously optimise pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Uphold strong data quality, integrity, and security practices across all systems.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines and processes.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and product teams to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies to support effective and timely delivery.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to discussions on data architecture, scalability, and best practices.
  • Apply strong principles of data governance, lineage, and documentation.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues efficiently.
  • Stay informed on emerging tools and trends in data engineering, especially within the AWS ecosystem.

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena).
  • Skilled in
    Airflow
    for workflow orchestration.
  • Advanced
    SQL
    and solid
    Python
    data engineering skills.
  • Experience with data modelling (e.g., dimensional) and familiarity with NoSQL technologies such as
    Elasticsearch
    .
  • Confident working with
    Git
    and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and security principles.
  • Practical problem-solver focused on scalable, efficient solutions.
