As our Lead Support Worker at our Young People ABS service, you’ll be supporting customers who have complex needs to develop independent living skills and achieve their hopes and aspirations.
We support young people and young parents aged 16 - 24 years, with a housing need. Our customers may recently have left care, been made homeless, or have recently become parents. Working across five properties in Cheltenham and Gloucester, you’ll be based at our largest in Cheltenham.
Close to local amenities, supermarkets and the town centre, the building comprises self-contained and shared flats, housing 14 customers, and we have parking too We’re also close to the Honeybourne Line which is great for a walk or cycle on your break
**What will your typical day as Lead Support Worker look like?**
- Creating support plans with your customers and coordinating our small team of Support Workers working to the plans.
- Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
- Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
- Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here Plenty of time to collaborate with colleagues too.

**What you’ll bring**
- Your passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
- Experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues in working to work to the plans.
- Experience of coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
- You’re a self-starter, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
- You’re comfortable using technology to create and update support plans, complete online learning and to connect with colleagues.

- You’re willing to travel to support our customers in the community using public transport or your own vehicle if you have one. We’ll pay for your expenses.
If you have a Level 3 Diploma in Care or equivalent that’s fantastic, but if you don’t, no problem as we’ll pay and support you to achieve this.

**Working hours**
You’ll work on a rota basis and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. However, there is flexibility to work the hours that fit around your commitments outside of work.
