Personal Assistant to Director, Chief Economist and Interim Director of Strategy

**Salary**: National - ranging from £26,400 - £36,000 and London from £29,000 - £40,000 per annum

The team/ department

The Economics Departments provides rigorous economic thinking, research, analysis and advice to help all FCA functions deliver on its strategic objective of making financial services markets work well, and to assess and demonstrate the impact of FCA interventions on those markets. The Strategy Department informs and drives the delivery of the FCA's Strategy across the organisation and provides central oversight of delivery on behalf of ExCo and the Board.

What you will be doing (the role)

We are looking for an experienced and talented PA who will work closely with the Director to manage their diary, manage administrative work, while engaging with their Executive Assistants, and other PAs and PBS staff within the directorate and the broader organisation. This role is an excellent career development opportunity to work in a Director’s office in a dynamic and engaging part of the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the Director and the EAs to ensure that all actions are picked up and taken forward in a timely fashion- Proactively prepare the Director’s daily pack(s) and ensure all relevant information, meeting details and any necessary briefing notes are requested- Manage requests for the Director’s availability to review documents and ensure sufficient time for review- Pre-empt, manage, proactively follow up and contribute to resolving internal and external ad-hoc issues or queries on behalf of the Director- Lead and provide administrative guidance, planning, organisation and coordination across key projects for the Directorate supporting staff within the division, ensuring they are updated with the latest information- Communicate internally and externally with stakeholders at all levels and acting as first point of contact for many internal queries. Ensuring that your office complies with local and FCA wide processes and procedures

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

The skills and experience you will have

Minimum- Experience of providing PA/Secretarial assistance at Head of Department level or above/equivalent- Demonstrable experience in establishing, developing and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders- Proven ability in delivering outcomes to accepted standards and tight deadlines, while being flexible in regard to conflicting priorities

Essential- Excellent written language and administration skills- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task- Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment- Appetite and drive to work as part of a team to get things done- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to forward plan, act on own initiative and prioritise work efficiently and effectively.- Excellent proven IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint;- A board awareness or interest in project management
