**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Community Project Manager / Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator who is passionate about volunteering and its benefits with excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships witha variety of stakeholders including younger people, older people and external organisations.

Working as a Community Project Manager / Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator you will be required to recruit, train and manage volunteers involved in the delivery of services across the organisation, ensuring that the charity is following bestpractice and that risk is always managed.

As a Community Project Manager / Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator you will be key in the delivery of the project, ensuring that 600 residents partake in the intergenerational project over the next 3 years.

This role will be key in monitoring and evaluating the charity’s Volunteer programme and the project, and that findings from monitoring and evaluations are acted upon.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as a Community Project Manager / Volunteer Recruitment and Training Coordinator will include:

- Oversee the delivery of the project, engaging 300 people in the intergenerational programme over three years
- Managing and delivering the befriending aspect of the project
- Monitor and evaluate the project, tracking how the programme empowers, builds confidence, and decreases social isolation of participants
- Build relationships with local organisations and services to promote and find referral pathways for the project
- Create and deliver a variety of initiatives that will build a legacy of ongoing support for participants after exiting from the project
- Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities
- Promote volunteering opportunities (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns, including local events
- Recruit and interview volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position within the company
- Carry out pre-volunteering checks, including references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
- Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers through regular informal contact and more structured reviews

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience of working with, managing, or coordinating, volunteers across various projects within an organisation
- Experience of writing and implementing volunteer policies
- Experience or knowledge of delivering befriending projects and best practice in befriending
- Experience of delivering training and support to volunteers
- Experience of implementing monitoring and evaluation processes
- Experience of working in the voluntary sector
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Teams and Excel
- Knowledge of latest volunteer involvement best practice, including knowledge of DBS requirements
- Experience in managing staff would be advantageous
- Passionate about volunteering and the benefits it can bring to an organisation, the local community and individuals
- Empathetic in nature and able to respond to needs of individuals while maintaining clear project boundaries
