**Salary**:£23,100 - £25,200 per annum

**Main purpose of job**:
To have responsibility for a caseload of Apprentices with SEND and other support needs. To assess Apprenticeship support and safeguarding needs impacting on learning, retention, wellbeing and progression and to subsequently plan and source / deliver support and interventions to meet identified needs. Positively promote the wellbeing and safeguarding of Apprentices to enhance their engagement, learning experience and chances of success.
**Main Duties**:
SEND Responsibilities
- To have overall responsibility of a cohort of learners who identify as having SEND.
- To identify the appropriate SEND support with the learners and other stakeholders, with support from appropriate delivery staff and through sourcing external support if appropriate through effective communication.
- To ensure the implementation of the action plan and then to monitor and review said action plan with the learner through regular meetings.
- To update delivery staff of action plan throughout the learner journey.
- To keep accurate and auditable documentation on all SEND learners.
- To follow all SEND policies and procedures in line with governmental, council and Ofsted guidelines.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- To be a Designated Safeguarding Officer for Training 2000 ensuring that qualifications and all CPD relevant to safeguarding maintained.
- To implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with Training 2000 and relevant LSCPs.
- To keep accurate and detailed records in relation to any safeguarding case.
- To attend internal and external meetings related to the safeguarding of a learner and to liaise with external agencies when required in relation to safeguarding.
Learner Well-being Responsibilities
- To respond to cause for concern referrals and requests for learner support from staff, employers, learners and their guardians, undertake an assessment of need / risk and provide immediate support / IAG and determine if the need for support is ongoing in which case the Learner Support Funding procedures should be followed.
- To document identification of need and plan appropriate support interventions through Personal Action Plans.
- To review on a monthly basis the agreed Personal Action Plan with the apprentice and tutor.
- To deliver support interventions as planned and record and claim evidence in a timely manner, ensuring that auditable evidence is in place for learner support funding claims in line with Government funding rules and company procedures.
- To provide information, advice and guidance to learners on issues which impact on their engagement, retention, learning, wellbeing, and progression.
- At all stages liaise with operational teams regarding the support of at risk learners.
- To develop good working relationships with external partners and engage them in the support of learners as appropriate.
- To positively promote the wellbeing and safeguarding of Apprentices to enhance their engagement, learning experience and chances of success through a variety of methods including delivering support /safeguarding inductions and other safeguarding themed sessions. On occasions deliver such topics related to the remit of the role to staff.
- To manage a caseload of at risk learners ensuring minimum frequency of visits is met.
- To initiate improvement initiatives within the support and safeguarding teams and put forward ideas of where improvements can be made and contribute to and support the learner voice across the business.
- To keep up to date with all GDPR and data protection policies and legislation and understand and report any data security breaches promptly to the appropriate persons.
- To undertake any other relevant duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post determined by a member of the leadership team.
**Essential Requirements**:
- IAG Level 3/Coaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Satisfactory DBS check
- Minimum IT, Literacy & Numeracy L2
- Good understanding of strategies to engaging in learning
- Good knowledge of current post 16 education systems.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation systems
- Strong knowledge in safeguarding and child protection
- Strong knowledge of issues affecting young people especially mental health
- Awareness of Leaning difficulties, disabilities and SEND needs.
- Minimum two years’ experience in providing pastoral support, advice and guidance to young people and or adults
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Experience in motivating young people
- Full/Clean UK Driving Licence
- Demonstrates open, honest and supportive behaviours which are in alignment with the Company’s Core Values
