Reporting into the Director of Finance, this Cost Accountant role will be one of two management accountants whom, along with the Senior Finance Business Partner, will jointly provide a management accounting service to the sales and operational teams to optimiseand grow the business.
This role will be focussed upon the operational / plant-based aspects, so experience of operations and cost accounting is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver the business strategy and drive the necessary change through the finance team.
Development of standard costs and variance analysis.
Month end procedures including stock valuation and reconciliation and performance analysis.
Performance and analysis reports.
Analysis of buying price variances for main raw materials.
Prepare analysis of material usage and spend against annual standard cost information.
Statutory packaging waste returns.
Maintain database of standard cost information regarding bills of materials, packaging specification and overhead absorption rates.
Experience we are looking for:
Qualified, Part qualified or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Experience working in a Finance function, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience of product costing process.
Experience of working in an integrated MRP environment (SAP ideally)
Strong Excel skills (macros, lookups, pivot tables)
Power BI, Power Query or Query language / SQL skills would be a benefit
