**The Role - Relief Manager**

We are currently looking for a Relief Manager to join our team. You would play a significant role in helping us to achieve our vision, being a key player in moving our business forward, with your natural ability to engage, inspire and offer advice to ourcustomers to ensure they choose the bed that suits them best

As a Relief Manager you will provide cover to a cluster of stores (typically between 1-2 hours from your base / advertised location) in times of holiday, sickness, absence or peak trading periods. Travel costs to other store locations from your base storewill be fully reimbursed via the expenses procedure. (Travel to your base location from home would not be covered, so you should be able to commute to the base location on a regular basis).

Your role as a Relief Manager will involve:

- Assess customer experience in store and feedback constructively to the Regional Manager thoughts and ideas to improve.
- Provide coaching to in store colleagues during time in branch, undertake day to day administrative duties, observing behaviours of store teams and to ensure general standard of display / promotional alignment in store are in line with company requirements.
- Provide detail reports to the Regional Sales Manager on store cover visits, identifying key areas of concern / improvement with ideas around how these concerns can be addressed and timescale of how to implement these.
- Spend time in challenged stores and to undertake activities to address performance issues. This will be outlined by the RSM in advance although, the use of initiative in store will play a key part of making the role a success.
- Reports will be required to be written for the RSM detailing findings in store, actions completed and additional actions required to address performance.
- Due to the nature of trading, weekend and evening working is essential to the business.
- Regular daily / weekly meetings with direct reports in the absence of the Store Manager.

**In return for your contribution to the store’s performance, we offer a base salary of £23,000 p.a. (pro rata for part time hours) plus uncapped individual commission paid monthly on top of your salary once your minimum sales target is achieved.**

**On target earnings c. £30,000 based on your target (pro rata), but there is no upper limit to what you can earn beyond that**

It should be noted that due to the nature of our products being large and sometimes heavy, the role will involve you and your colleagues moving products around in-store to position them to sell, and some cleaning tasks will be necessary to ensure the storeand our products are in the best possible condition for our customers.

Our busiest times tend to be when our customers are free to come in and visit the store, which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You would be expected to cover some of these are part of your working week but, we understand the importance ofa good work life balance so would not be expected to work all of them.

Driven to achieve your sales targets.You will enjoy engaging with customers and can adapt your approach as appropriate to build rapport and establish their needs.

Skills, experience and attributes required to be successful in this role:

- Demonstrable experience in a similar retail role
- Strong numeracy skills i.e. ability to interpret retail data
- Strong team player & influential communicator
- Experience of leading, managing and coaching a team
- Understanding of business operations and systems
- Managerial experience is desirable
- Ability to identify areas of change, recommend future actions and manage implementation
