We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented **Bookkeeping Assistant** to join a well-established accountancy and business advisory firm based in **Shepperton, Surrey**. This is a fully office-based role, ideal for individuals starting their bookkeeping career or currently studying towards Level 2 or Level 3 AAT qualifications.

**Position Details**:

- **Hours**: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- **Location**: Shepperton, Surrey, with occasional travel to the West Horsley branch
- **Salary**: £30,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience)

**Important Note on Location & Transport**

While Shepperton is not in a rural area, public transport options are limited, so having a **valid driving licence and access to a car would be highly beneficial** for a more convenient commute. This is a fully office-based role with occasional travel required to the West Horsley branch.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate financial records for a variety of clients, ensuring all data is correctly recorded and up-to-date.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns.
- Perform data entry, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance to uphold financial accuracy.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, fostering trust and long-term relationships.
- Embrace new bookkeeping processes and technologies to improve efficiency and support practice growth.
- **Qualifications**: Currently studying towards Level 2 or Level 3 AAT qualifications, or equivalent.
- **Experience**: Some prior experience in a bookkeeping or accounting environment is beneficial but not essential.
- **Tech Proficiency**: Familiarity with bookkeeping software such as Xero and Sage; proficiency in MS Excel.
- **Communication & Organisation**: Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

- **Driving Licence**: Having a valid driving licence and access to a car is highly advantageous given the limited public transport options.
