Sales and Operational Planning Lead

Overview:
The Sales & Operational Planning Lead will form part of the Operations Team and report directly to the Operations Director. The purpose of the role is to lead, coordinate, integrate and manage resources, to drive the delivery of a broad range of business activities for the customer projects, including providing the consolidated analysis of business demand and capability supply. This is a 12-month contract.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leadership - Overall lead for Mission Systems Business Support Discipline, and Group Functional Lead for Business Support supporting Group Chief of Staff. Accountable for setting the Business Support discipline strategy and delivering its operational performance, collaborating with sub-discipline leads on the resource supply solution to meet business demand, including arbitrating at an overall discipline level
- Operations & Business Planning - Collaborating with Line of Business & Disciplines to own Integrated Operational Plan, focus on mid to long term time frames, aligning with the customer operations system. Thinking outcomes providing seamless cycle of forecast, plan, execute, control for people resources, assets, facilities, materials and other critical constraints, allowing for analysis of relevant scenario plans. Own & deliver the Mission Systems Business Continuity planning.
- Collaborating across the business to identify the long-term business resource demand requirement in support of workforce resourcing within matrix organisation, collaborating with HR on the strategic workforce planning process.SAP - Mission Systems lead for design and implementation phases of SAP platform. Accountable for maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders across the project to drive a successful roll-out of SAP within Mission Systems.
- Service Delivery - Collaborate with Delivery & Discipline to deliver effective integrated and prioritised operational activities, aligned with agreed service level agreements. Ensuring compliance with relevant customer frameworks and governance.
- Governance - Accountable for implementing effective reporting and governance processes, which appropriately balance agility with controlled output and data transparency. Focusing on ‘license to operate’ reporting, empowering teams to deliver output for all group reporting requirements.
- Performance Management - Collaborate with Business Change leads, Business Improvement initiatives and Resource planning to ensure operational impacts to business are considered holistically. Driving process efficiency to reduce costs, remove duplication and streamline operations.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to flex style to engage and influence people from all levels
- Problem solving capability (not just identifying) and the ability to simplify, prioritise, and resolve issues, using data as well as good judgement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat and other office productivity tools, with aptitude to dynamically learn new software and systems
- Brilliant planning skills, to manage different projects, priorities, and deadline

**Experience**:
- Significant relevant experience within a large, complex, global organisation
- Of particular importance is experience of integrated business planning and experience of rolling out SAP (or similar) in another organisation
