We’re looking for someone who looks at marketing events differently
Do you think outside the box when it comes to delivering events?
We’re looking for an Events Executive who wants to take the next step in their career and can step confidently into a new role that we’re creating. As part of a small and focused marketing team, you’ll be specifically responsible for providing innovative ways to build and deliver a diverse schedule of events as well as sharing insight on how to improve how we do things to navigate the changing events and conferences.
Core responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining a good relationship with event and conference organisers in order to promote WNE thought leaders for podium/panel spaces.
- Working with technical teams and account leaders to understand the opportunities for creating our own events calendar based on key themes.
- Overseeing the awards calendar and promoting the opportunities within the Unit.
- Supporting technical teams in their award nominations, including reviewing submission documents.
- Managing the Unit conference and events materials and advising on the development of compelling new collateral to showcase our business, services and products at events.
- Collecting statistics to assist with evaluating the return on investment from events and activities.
Skills to set you apart
- An innovative thinker who enjoys looking for new solutions.
- Able to work independently in a focused team, whilst communicating and collaborating freely.
- Experience of actively contributing to meetings.
- Knowledge of current trends in event management and strong awareness of market developments, based on regular liaison with organisers and stakeholders.
It doesn’t mean you won’t be right for this role if you don’t fulfil every need, but we do want you to tell us about your experience in these areas, similar skills that can be applied in this role or how you propose to address any potential gaps.

- Experience of working in a strategic events role. However, we’re open to experience in a role that included elements of events without it being a dedicated role.
- Proven ability to handle an ongoing schedule of internal events and external conferences often with overlapping timescales.
- Experience in a business-to-business commercial environment with an understanding of inbound marketing.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms such as Zoom and Teams as well as a knowledge of event technology products and services.
