We are working with an established Insurance Brokers in South Manchester to secure them a Motor Claims Handler, dealing with all personal injury, special damages including credit hire. This is a home based role with training being done in the office. Salaryis up to £27k, this is based on experience. Duties and Responsibilities: - Investigate, evaluate and negotiate all presented personal injury claims and any associated head of loss. - Have a thorough understanding of the pre-action protocol, MOJ portal and ligation process. - Proactive and effective evaluation of accident circumstances to make an accurate assessment of liability (full or split) within the portal deadlines, gathering evidence where appropriate. - Have a good understanding of liability considerations, case-law and the Highway Code. - Ability to gather a defined list of evidence and referral for liability assessment on a Without Prejudice basis where the policyholder’s version of events cannot be obtained. - Ability to articulate the liability decision including split cases confidently and effectively, using negotiation skills to influence when met with challenge and presenting evidence in a compelling manner. - Identify and highlight indemnity concerns, taking appropriate action. - Ability to review and assess injuries in accordance with medical evidence presented. - An awareness of medical terminology usually associated with whiplash. - Ability to identify, articulate and present causation arguments. - An understanding of other heads of loss associated with injury claims. E.g. Loss of earning, care, rehabilitation, future loss of earnings. - Excellent negotiation skills in agreeing general and special damages. - Understanding of the CRU process and the documents required for each specific stage. - Understanding of the different guidelines and procedures for dealing with Scottish and N Irish cases. - A thorough knowledge of current market trends and solicitor behaviour. - An understanding of RTA insurer status and the implications to costs and recoverability from our policyholder. - Refer all threats of litigation in accordance with process to ensure litigation is avoided where possible and costs are kept to a minimum. - Ensure that all regulatory requirements are adhered to including the protection of client and company data. - Adherence to reserving guidelines within SLA. - Sound knowledge and awareness of fraud indicators, referring as appropriate Core Skills: - Effective liability decision making. - Accurate recording of information. - Adherence to reserving guidelines. - Adherence to regulatory and company compliance. - Converse effectively at all levels both written and verbally. - Achieve KPIs and SLAs. - Understand the motor claims journey including revenue opportunities. - Manage ACPC. - Accurately assess indemnity. - Identify fraud concerns. - Identify large loss and understand delegated authority considerations. - Effectively use all company systems and processes.
