The Child Health Information services (CHIS) Officer plays a key role in the Child Health function supporting the delivery of a high quality service to customers, in line with the Child Health Service Specification and the national Commissioning Intelligence Framework.
To ensure that an electronic child health record is accurate and updated using RiO by processing data/test results and information and associated data are managed, stored in accordance with Trust and Child Health standard procedures and health record policies. To access, retrieve, assess and arrange for the secure (electronic and manual) transfer of information when requested.
The opening hours for the Child Health Information System Service (CHIS) is: Monday to Friday 8.30 - 5pm.
Be fully conversant with and adhere to all work related polices, procedure and guidelines, ensuring that all work outputs are completed as required and that all related targets and timescales are met.
Ensure that any/all work outputs are produced to a high standard of quality that meets all of the organisational Information Governance standards.
Adhere to all Trust requirements relating to behaviours and professional conduct at work.
2. Input data onto RiO from external/internal sources both paper based and electronic i.e. new births, scanning Notification of Birth additional details / Medical Examinations / Screening and Immunisation data and work to the daily rota, following processes for deaths to ensure all communication is halted.
3. To process data and information in relation to children’s records and associated data/tests.
4. Share information / data / records both internally within the NHS Trust and with external sources as appropriate adhering to information governance/ management guidelines.
6. To prioritise workload on a day to day basis, liaising with other team members to ensure continuity of service at all times.
7. To undertake other duties at the request of the Team Leader / Manager which are commensurate with the role including covering absence.
8. Formats reports to a high standard.
9. Ensures incoming and outgoing post is processed promptly.
