**Job description**:
Matrix is part of a collection of central programmes which will deliver the collective “one” civil service ambition, driving modernisation, productivity improvements and reform outcomes to rationalise and harmonise 24 ministerial departments’ “back office” operations. These programmes collectively will reduce cost, time and enable the Civil Service to operate as “one” through interoperability, sharing of common services, systems and data.

Shared Services touch all Civil Servants, providing business critical tools in human resources, finance, payroll and procurement providing the foundation for employees to deliver public services. The Shared Services for Government Strategy is clear that through the clustering of departments and simultaneous investment in technology and service will deliver a fundamental modernisation of the ways of working for Corporate Services and through a modern digital landscape, deliver productivity, efficiency, risk reduction and transformational benefits for all departments, streamlining policy development, policy delivery and Ministerial response times.

The Matrix Programme represents the critical investment in Corporate Services Technology and Service provision, for Cabinet Office (CO), Department for Science Innovation and Technology (DSIT), Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS), Department for Business Trade (DBT), Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), Department for Education (DfE), Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), Attorney’s General Office (AGO) and His Majesty's Treasury (HMT); providing the foundation to deliver optimal transformation within departments.

The Programme is part of the Shared Services landscape across cluster which will deliver the Shared Services Strategy for Government, and its three core objectives:
Better experience for all users - intuitive systems that are easy to use and mobile-enabled.

Efficiency and value for money - better systems and services which support productivity and seek to reduce costs.

Standardised processes and data - support interoperability, making it easier to understand and compare corporate data.

**Key responsibilities**

Short Summary:
The Relationship Lead will form part of the Matrix Transition Office, working with and on behalf of a number of departments to ensure the change and transition on the implemented technology solution and transformed Shared Services. The role will act as a critical bridge from department teams into the programme providing the link between departmental transition and change activities and the programme status and plan. The role reporting to the Head of the Transition Office will provide technical expertise to continually develop and refine readiness checklists and simultaneously providing assurance on their progress until completion. By acting as the intermediary, you will drive collaboration and alignment between programme, System integrator and Departments.
