**Personal assistant**
Pete Hill, a fit 74 year old resident of Nechells in Birmingham who has a disabled wife, is looking for a female to employ for 6 hours a week, to assist with clerical, domestic and planning activities.
**Duties**
**Clerical work.**
Nechells and Overseas Care Fund Charity (a volunteer is already working on this)
- Keeping spreadsheet up to date
- Setting up for the AGM
- Newsletter,
- Correspondence with contacts abroad
- Financial transfers
- Claiming Gift Aid tax relief
- Keeping in touch with trustee
Assistance with financial matters such as
- Payroll for personal assistant
- tax issues,
- payments of bills
Internet searches and online purchases
Planning and booking holidays
**Management**
Supervision of Care for Carol Hill
- Developing relationship with Carol to ascertain her needs and provide support particularly when Pete is away
- Organising activities for Carol
- Assistance with advising a large care team for Carol. This will involve keeping written instructions up to date and reviewing timesheets
- Managing medication and dressings order
- Supervising physiotherapy
Manage by Planning and Employing:
- Gardening,
- Household (downsizing and organisation),
- Repairs,
Managing Out of house activities
- Shopping and fetching.
**Skills required**
Pleasant, relaxed and affirming personality enthusiastic with the overall aims of the position which would suit someone who either wishes to add hours to their working week or is comfortable with a job with few hours.
I would prefer to have someone with a driving licence and be able to use (or learn to use) an automatic car in order to undertake the out of house activities..
**Contract proposals**
**Hours**: : 6 hours per week Ideally over 2 days.
**Contract length**. There will be a probationary period of 4 weeks and the initial contract will be for 3 **months,** after which the mode of working could be modified. It is hoped the post will be **permanent.**
**Holidays, pension and sick pay. **Statutory requirements will be observed.
**Pay**: £12.00 an hour on a PAYE basis.
£13.50 an hour on a self employed basis. If the personal assistant would wish to register to be self employed, assistance would be given.
