Compassion UK is recruiting for a **Volunteer Support Specialist** to work as an important contributor to Compassion UK’s ambitious growth objectives in releasing more children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
You will use your experience and skills to recruit, onboard and train our wonderful volunteers. You will pair them with the relevant departments based on their skills, abilities, and availability.

- Office-based from our office in Fleet Hampshire
Hours:
- 14 hours per week over a flexible working pattern
**Salary**:
- £10,200pa (£25,500 Pro Rata within the grade £25,500 to £30,900pa)
About the role
Compassion UK are blessed to be supported at Compassion House and remotely across the country by some amazing volunteers. As **Volunteer Support Specialist** you’ll look after these volunteers and help us recruit even more, working with all departments to provide volunteers with on boarding, training, scheduling, and continued support in their roles.
You will take potential volunteers, from the point of them expressing their interest in volunteering at Compassion, through the recruitment journey (including the required due diligence) enabling them to make a difference in our mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. You will collaborate with team leaders to identify and recruit into new volunteer vacancies in their teams.
**Responsibilities**:
- Actively maintain and promote Compassion UK’s Christian ethos and values
- Lead the recruitment, selection, equipping and development of Compassion volunteers, increasing their engagement in our shared ministry
- Actively take opportunities to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supporting others to achieve shared Ministry aims and targets
About you
To flourish in this role, you’ll need:
- **Experience in volunteer coordination** with the proven ability to recruit, induct, train, and manage volunteers including scheduling with a demonstrable track record of delivering results through the leadership of volunteer activity and to be passionate about volunteers and the impact they make.
- **Have core office/administrative skills, **being fluent in English and competent in written and numerical work, with experience of basic office systems such as Microsoft Office and an ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines and support colleagues with administrative tasks.
- **Educated to at least GCSE level standard** and/or be able to show relevant work-based experience in a results driven organisation.
It would help (but isn’t essential) to have:
- **Expertise of best practice in volunteer management** together with an awareness of safeguarding considerations and a desire to continually strive to provide an exceptional level of service to our volunteers and the ministry of Compassion.
- Experience using a CRM solution.
- Experience of delivering training, particularly to volunteers.
