The Nottingham Centre for Transgender Healthcare (NCTH) is a national service of 7 National NHS England commissioned clinics that patients can access from across the country. There is a significant and long wait time from referral to first assessment. NCTH have worked with NHS England on a number of pilot projects to reduce wait times.
The post holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary service, working with Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist, Psychotherapists, Consultant Psychiatrists, General Practitioners, Consultant Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Speech and Language Therapists.
The Assistant Clinical Psychologist will need to work independently according to an agreed plan and within the overall framework of the Trust’s policies and procedures. If appropriate, the Assistant Clinical Psychologist will be included in opportunities to undertake brief psychological assessment and therapy intervention work. They will also be required to assist and gain experience through participating in relevant clinically related administrative activities and the development of audit and/or research projects. They would be expected to participate in relevant continuing professional development and attend regular clinical supervision.
