A typical week would include developing client relationships and positioning for prospects, managing a team of advisory consultants, and demonstrating leadership skills. Supporting project managers in the successful delivery of projects in a project director capacity, working independently and with instruction from the Tees Valley Account Leader. Representing Mott MacDonald at client meetings and contributing to internal meetings with other senior colleagues from our other offices in the Northern region and supporting the growth of the advisory capability in the Tees Valley region.
Essential Criteria
- Chartered Professional in the Built Environment
- Proven experience in advisory type work at a senior level, including:
- Experience in working “client side” at an early stage in projects to develop scope, options appraisals and feasibility documents
- Experience in supporting clients in setting project briefs- Enthusiastic self-starter, with drive and commitment to succeed, and strong interest in understanding the wider business objectives.
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop client relationships and communicate effectively with senior management team and colleagues
- Proven experience in business development and converting prospects to projects
- Strong interest in attending and contributing to industry networking events
- Experience and enthusiasm in growing teams
Desirable Criteria
- Previous consultancy background
- Previous experience of working in Healthcare Sector and / or Local Authority Regeneration

**Job Profile**
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our emerging team of technical advisory and project management professionals in our Northern offices. Our Northern team of professionals focuses on public sector clients, primarily in the Northern region, but also nationally, and has a strong track record in the delivery of public sector projects through major frameworks.
We have recently opened an office in Middlesbrough, and we are growing an Advisory capability in the Tees Valley region, which is led by senior colleagues with a strong track record of supporting clients at the early stage of infrastructure and built environment projects. Our clients include national and local Government departments, developers, investors, and infrastructure operators.
To support our ongoing growth and prospects pipeline we are looking to recruit a Technical Advisor / Project Manager, with expertise in technical advisory and project management to grow and lead a team of advisory consultants in the Tees Valley Region.

The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water.
