Main Responsibilities:

- Raising purchase orders through various methods and channels.
- Reacting to MRP system messages to expedite, defer or cancel open order lines.
- Issuing RFQs, drawing releases, analysing quotes, and setting up new part replenishment profile.
- Resolve issues relating to accuracy of deliveries, quality rejects, invoice queries, overdue orders, and production shortages.
- Ensure OTIF from supply base meets the MRP requirements.
- Ensure delivery, quality and costs meet agreed standards and expectations ensuring continuity of build on production lines.
- Identify alternative sources for OEM parts through distributors and work with relevant engineering teams when necessary for technical input.
- Creation and management of Permits and Engineering Change throughout supply chain
- Identifying areas of improvement and savings opportunities; through continuous improvement activities, bench-marking, value engineering & optimising replenishment methods.
- Working with Engineering to manage obsolete and replacement parts. Raising temporary permits (concessions) and engineering changes.
- Developing relationships with suppliers so important requests are handled with the necessary level of urgency.
- Actively work with the supplier and internal cross-functions on Continuous Improvement activities.
- Conducting business review meetings over the phone and face to face in Clevedon or at supplier sites.
- Contribute and Lead Supplier Negotiations, with the support of the Senior Buyer.
- Represent purchasing in internal cross functional project meetings providing status updates relating to all the above activities.
- Reviewing Supplier Performance and Support Supplier Improvement activities; working closely with Suppliers and SQE's. Highlighting supplier issues and performance concerns to the Senior Buyer.
- Support senior buyers and purchasing managers with large volume supplier accounts by implementing system changes following strategic guidance.
- Works collaboratively within the Supply Chain Team to understand and support business strategy.
- Maintain document records, track personal performance against operational metrics and contribute to departmental reporting.
- Analyse BoM's and engineering drawings to understand key manufacturing requirements
- Develop and foster a close relationship with relevant engineering teams
- Instigate the development and implementation of Tooling as and when necessary/ required by a supplier.
- Ability to review supplier capacity studies and OEE calculations accuracy.
- Develop and foster a close relationship with relevant engineering teams.
- Coordinate with suppliers and quality teams for non-conformance.
