**Business Development Manager - Remote based role**

This client is a specialist energy and water management company, established in 2012, that operates in the UK, Germany, Spain, Holland and India.

In the UK, they specialise in the decarbonisation of heat with turnkey design and delivery of energy efficiency upgrade projects. They add value to their clients in a number of ways from high quality project delivery, provision of funding solutions and technicalconsultancy services. As a market leader in the UK housing market for Communal and District Heating, they have an extensive portfolio of clients including local authorities.

Their Water Services Division provides water efficiency solutions for the domestic, commercial and agritec sectors. In the UK they work with leading water companies, reducing residential water consumption and thereby helping utilities meet their regulatorywater efficiency targets. They also work with hotels, care home groups and student accommodation providers to help reduce water and energy consumption supported by their patented water flow regulators. The solutions typically will require a low capital outlay,provide immediate cost savings and reduced energy usage, and are fully aligned to supporting water neutrality programmes.

**Purpose of the Job**

As the Business Development Manager (BDM), you will extensively network with the water companies, owners of commercial buildings, public authorities, planning bodies and property developers to identify opportunities and secure contracts to provide waterand energy saving solutions.

**Principle role requirements are**:

- Responsible for developing own pipeline and turning it into an agreed revenue stream
- Creating new business opportunities within the UK water industry and wider Water Efficiency market.
- Understanding Water Saving Requirements from a UK government perspective such as Water Neutrality and how this affects property developers and councils.
- Bid writing/tender management experience
- Communicating new product developments to prospective clients

As the BDM you will support the Director for Water Services and the Water leadership team in account managing existing customers in the region, leveraging the existing client base to drive repeat business, support in finding and writing high value bids anddeveloping proposals.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Sales, account management and networking in all appropriate sectors
- Develop an expanded network of repeat clients
- Develop proposals for new delivery projects including technology appraisals and commercials
- Assist clients in the production of approval documents and internal project briefings and proposals
- Develop funding proposals in conjunction with internal funding team
- Assist in production of quality responses & administration for tenders
- Project manage the range of activities required
- Plan, contribute and manage lead generation activities. Develop and attend promotional events
- Act as initial point of contact for all client queries, Develop and maintain project plans including performance, reporting and ensure projects are delivered in line with the companies standards
- Manage pipeline of allocated / developed accounts and provide regular updates on changes to the Director of Water Services
- Support Delivery and Finance teams in the allocation of Project Purchase Orders from clients, invoicing and cash collect

**Person Specification**
- Proven experience and success in a sales environment (preferably 3 years +)
- Good working knowledge of water neutrality and can demonstrate solid environmental/sustainability awareness
- Excellent written & spoken English and ability to communicate at all levels and ability to communicate complex proposals simply
- High level of literacy and ability to write high quality project proposals
- Bid writing experience and good commercial acumen
- Keen interest in energy efficiency & decarbonisation
- Full clean driving licence - willing to travel regularly
