This post is working 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
This role is responsible for providing corporate finance services including planning, in-year management, project accounting and governance, investment appraisal and financial reporting supporting Defence Digital outputs.

The post will be working on Next Generation Communication Networks, which is a high-profile new programme tasked with delivering the MODs future network capability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead delivery of long-term planning submissions (Programme Cost Reviews (PCR) and Annual Budgeting Cycle (ABC)) and all associated activity including development of Option costings and alignment to planning (3rd Order) assumptions.
- Oversee construction and delivery of the In-Year Budget and Forecast, coordinating monthly submissions and commentary packs in line with the consolidated review timetable.
- Oversee control and reconciliation procedures such that accounts are robust, associated Project Account, asset delivery and inventory information is accurately maintained and reconciled, and reporting (including Team Leader Review Financial Position) is delivered.
- Provide strategic financial support and analysis to projects including in support of procurement delivery.
- Lead delivery of a robust compliance and governance framework including discharge of effective financial reporting and audit requirements, Value for Money (VFM) and affordability scrutiny, assurance and financial concurrence within delegated authority.
- Effectively manage resources within area of responsibility to deliver VFM.
- Provision of Cost Models to support evaluation of industry bids and to provide robust evidence in support of financial approvals.

Please note that this post is likely to have staff management responsibility tailored to the demands of the business.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a friendly disposition, possessing good communication skills with a customer focussed mindset.

You will need to be confident and able to work under pressure whilst always remaining polite and courteous and will need to have the ability to use a degree of initiative, and the ability to retain information to prioritise daily duties.

**Qualifications**:

- It is essential that you have:

- Level 2 in FCF2 Financial Governance
- Level 2 in FCF3 Financial Planning
- Level 3 in FCF6 Investment Appraisals
