**Job summary**:
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the Government’s exports and trading department, focusing on drawing inward investment to the U.K. and supporting U.K. businesses to operate overseas. DIT has four key priority outcomes:

- Secure world-class free trade agreements and reduce market access barriers, ensuring that consumers and businesses can benefit from both.

**Job description**:
**Flexible Resource Pool (FRP)**
- To lead on identifying, developing and improving the strategies and mechanisms that support the FRP
- To lead on the recruitment of PD and Change Professionals into the FRP
- To lead on commissioning Bidding rounds for pool resource across DIT
- To be responsible for FRP finances

**Leadership and Resource Management**
- To be a visible, positive, and competent leader and role model ensuring high professional standards and behaviour across the directorate
- Work closely with procurement and other corporate service colleagues to monitor the use of contingent labour for PD professionals
- Provide support across DIT on the provision of PD Resource
- Lead on advising teams on recruitment of PD Professionals
- To monitor and facilitate the reallocation of PD professionals rolling of closing projects

**Fast Stream**
- To act as the grade manager for Project Delivery Fast streamers joining DIT which includes dealing with any issues or challenges arising from these placements
- To oversee Fast Stream finances

**Stakeholder engagement**
- Work with key stakeholders within DIT on priorities for L&D which include HR, other functional areas and the wider PD community as well as outside bodies including the IPA, APM and PMI

**Reporting**
- Periodic reporting - Oversight of the development of KPIs on resourcing activity and managing the reporting process to ensure there is accurate, timely and relevant management information on activity

**Financial and Resource Management**
- To work with the wider division and finance business partner to ensure all government financial requirements are met and monitor all expenditure and income against budget, highlighting any potential overspends and risks
- Identify and implement efficiency saving proposals

**Business Planning and Delivery**
- To support the Head of Resourcing and capability with Business Planning processes and production of plans in conjunction with the senior management team

**Line management**
- Active line management of an SEO and HEO

**Personal and Professional Development**

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London salary.

DIT will cover travel costs/expenses to any office which is not your usual office location in line with departmental expenses policy. DIT will not cover commuting costs to your agreed office location.
