The Chief Operating Office within Digital Data and Technology Services (DDTS) function is recruiting a Staff Engagement Officer.

The Chief Operating Office is at the heart of DDTS. It handles implementing programmes of change and coordinating cross-cutting activities including governance and assurance, portfolio investment and delivery, business planning, workforce strategy and change engagement. DDTS is a function of over 1000 people, with a mix of permanent civil servants and contingent labour.

You will support the growth and development of our three main social media channels through the proactive gathering and production of stories, content, and materials, ensuring posts are published in line with our social media policies and guidelines.

You will need to work under pressure, with the ability to gain knowledge and act within a busy environment. Have good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and prioritise work on their own initiative. You would be expected to consult with more senior colleagues on more complex issues.
**Responsibilities**
- Drafting and compiling, consistently to a high standard, the fortnightly DDTS internal function newsletter ready for delivery to DDTS staff. Sourcing engaging, informative and relevant articles using insight and awareness of current issues and through consultation with senior colleagues
- Contribute to the organisation and distribution of the DDTS internal line managers’ briefing, all staff conference calls, internal communications and engagement activities and events, like Huddles, show and tells and lunch and learns
- Gather evaluation evidence and seek feedback from DDTS staff on what is working and what we can improve
- Provide communications support and advice to DDTS customers and stakeholders to help them achieve their communications/business objectives by implementing communications strategies across a broad range of channels
- Collaborate with colleagues across DDTS to gather stories of interest for DDTS facing channels

**Skills and Experience**
- Proven experience and skilled in producing and designing engaging and effective content (e.g., blogs, news articles, briefings etc.) for internal communications channels
- Experience in developing and delivering successful communications within large, dispersed organisations
- Experience in using insights, metrics, and user feedback to define evaluate, improve content, and inform future activity
- Experience of working at all levels within an organisation and experience of challenging senior grades to deliver better communication outcomes
- Ability to make immediate choices in changing environments or working to tight deadlines as well as being able to use communication skills to resolve complex problems

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £30,317.00-£36,606.00 per year
