Are you passionate about resident engagement and eager to contribute to the safety of residents in Bristol? We are looking for a dedicated Resident Engagement Officer to join the Building Safety Team at Bristol City Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the council’s statutory duties and ensure the safety of occupants in high-rise buildings.
**The Role**:
As a Resident Engagement Officer, you will play a key part in leading Building Safety related resident engagement projects which support fire safety programmes of work, as well as ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 requirements surrounding resident engagement strategies.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Arrange and undertake resident engagement, covering various communication methods and languages.
- Organise and attend consultation meetings, seminars and working groups.
- Prepare and present reports, briefing notes and presentations for service managers, staff and residents.
- Supervise project work to satisfy the requirements the Council’s fire safety and building safety programmes.
**What We’re Looking For**:
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with residents and show empathy and understanding. You will be required to analyse and interpret results of engagement activity to understand the best methods of communication for our residents. Ideally experience within a social housing or public housing context would be advantageous.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Excellent communication skills, using oral, written and electronic media, with the ability to converse with citizens.
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of current policies and developments relevant to social housing and building safety.
