IS THIS ROLE FOR ME?

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, your role will be to support projects and campaigns and undertake a wide range of educational activities that promote recycling and re-use, resulting in decreasing residual waste.

**Key responsibilities**:

- To engage with residents and stakeholders to promote recycling and reuse and improve waste management behaviours
- To create positive impact through community involvement, attending group meetings and consulting with representatives to gather feedback and promote sustainable waste management
- To assist with the development of information and promotional materials both online and in print for stakeholder groups
- To develop and deliver educational presentations and workshops
- To carry out detailed recorded investigations into community issues, working closely with the Operations and Complaints Teams to find sustainable solutions.
- To respond and investigate promptly to issues raised internally and externally.
- To consult with residents, community groups, councillors, housing associations and landlords about waste management issues, identify their requirements and provide appropriate solutions

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- An innovative approach to problem solving
- The ability to understand waste legislation and contractual obligation
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- An ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
- Good public speaking and presentation skills
- Good ICT skills and familiarity with standard packages such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- An ability to create engaging and interesting communications

DESIRABLE
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Experience of event management
- Experience of community engagement and or behaviour change projects
- Understanding of, and interest in, waste, recycling, and environmental issues
- Knowledge of recycling and resource management
- Full, clean driving license
