As a Select Committee Advisor at HS2 you will provide logístical support for the Select Committee hearings during the passage of the Phase 2B Hybrid Bill. You will be responsible for producing and distributing an informative record of each day in Select Committee. To work closely with the wider Parliamentary Team and Committee Clerk to ensure Select Committee hearings are set up effectively and operate seamlessly each day. You will play a key role in responding to the Select Committee requests
**About the role**:
- Manage the production of the Daily Digest (the record of the day in Select Committee) and ensure it is distributed to the wider Hs2 organisation at the end of each hearing
- Manage and maintain the tracker used to record all actions from the hearings. Ensure that all actions are completed quickly and accurately and signed off by Counsel and Senior Management before responding back to the Select Committee
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure there is a thorough understanding of the Select Committee proceeding
- Lead on the co-ordination of inputs from within HS2 Ltd, DfT and external experts to enable urgent responses to requests leading up to or during the parliamentary process
- Lead on the organisation of Select Committee site visits to locations on the HS2 route, including producing itineraries, visual aids and managing the logistics of this process
- Produce and quality assure documents that will be displayed in Parliament and released in to the public domain
- Act as a point of contact for teams within HS2 Ltd, the DfT, Parliamentary Agents and others seeking information about the Select Committee proceedings
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to lead and support conferences with Counsel, including meticulously recording and managing all relevant actions to a successful and speedy resolution
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

- Ability to manage multiple, competing, deadlines and prioritise work and the workloads of other
- Ability to produce succinct and accurate documents that are fit for public consumption
- Ability to demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail
- Writing skills demonstrated through the ability to draft informative meeting notes/minutes/other written documents that synthesise key and complex issues
- Ability to pick up new topics quickly
- Ability to build strong working relationships with seniors stakeholders within HS2 and with external experts/stakeholders
- Ability to influence others and ensure they complete work to deadline
- Plan and organising own workload and a proven ability to sound decisions on conflicting priorities
- Knowledge of Parliament, its processes and procedures
- Knowledge of the mechanics of the Select Committee process
- Knowledge of the issues faced by organisations in the development of infrastructure schemes or other large projects
- Educated to degree level
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of line management
- Experience of motivating and developing team members.
