Summary We are looking for an Estate Management Officer to join the Let Estate team at our Lake District Hub office which is responsible for looking after our portfolio of land and properties in Cumbria and North Lancashire. You’ll provide key technical supportfor our building and land use activities including taking responsibility for elements of the property letting process and maintaining data management systems and processes which support the efficient management of our let estate.

In this role you’ll be working as part of a team on part of our extensive portfolio across Cumbria and North Lancashire which has a focus on the Lake District National Park. We're proud to care for over 20% of the Lake District National Park, now a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site, that includes 90 farms and the associated open, common land of the Lakeland Fells as well as a significant and wide-ranging collection of residential and commercial property.

What you'll be doing Service will be a vital part of your role in order to build and maintain relationships across the portfolios with tenants and colleagues. Working as part of a wider team you’ll help to care for and manage our land and buildings by supporting the deliveryof the Estate Management Plans and wider National Trust conservation aims. You’ll work to ensure rent reviews are completed on time, vacant cottages are re-let as soon as possible, assist to ensure repairs are dealt with as efficiently as possible, estaterecharges are issued, and compliance tasks are logged, as well as assisting Estate Managers with managing key performance indicators.

You’ll provide a professional service support to the Estate Managers for the management of residential, commercial and agricultural lettings including residential re-lets and marketing, responding to requests for information, advice and hands-on supportfor the Let Estate team, data analysis and management, credit checks, schedules of conditions, drafting basic legal documentation, assisting with, or when appropriate, leading on low complexity rent reviews and property renovations. You’ll be central supportingthe processing of day to day property repairs working closely with Building Supervisors. You will also be responsible for the administration of our property management system. This will include; inputting let estate records and information, assisting in thepreparation of budgets and forecasting, organising Tenant recharge costs, updating records and monitoring debtors.

Who we're looking for
- Strong data management and analytical skills including the ability to gather and interpret management information to support Estate Managers and Building Surveyors
- An understanding of the residential lettings process and residential property management including basic refurbishment and repair works alongside a knowledge of the rural and building surveying environment
- An understanding of the legislation relating to land and property and the ability to draft licences and other legal agreements to support Estate Managers
- The ability to work as part of a team, sometimes remotely, to achieve the best results, demonstrating best practice and sharing ideas and thinking
- The ability to develop and maintain data, systems and processes to support the effective management of let estate including carrying out administrative tasks accurately and efficiently
- Excellent IT, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills whilst liaising with our tenants, partners and stakeholders.
