About the Role

Duty Manager – Visible Leadership. Seamless Operations. Exceptional Standards.

We're looking for a Duty Manager to be the senior operational lead during their shift, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on visibility, coordination, and upholding luxury standards across all touchpoints — especially within Brimstone Hotel and Meetings & Events.

As Duty Manager, you'll act as the go-to leader for guests and teams alike, overseeing service delivery, resolving issues, and ensuring the hotel is presented to 5-star standards at all times. You'll work closely with all departments, support VIP arrivals, and take ownership of operational challenges — from guest feedback to emergency response.

This role can be offered with the opportunity to undertake a fully funded Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship, delivered by Dove Nest Group. This 15-month programme is designed for current managers responsible for teams or projects, and supports the achievement of operational and departmental goals aligned with organisational strategy. The qualification blends experiential learning, one-to-one coaching, and practical workshops, covering key areas such as operational and project management, finance, leadership, communication, and decision-making. Learners complete a business-focused project and gain a recognised management qualification (ILM), enhancing their ability to lead, motivate, and drive performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a visible, approachable leader throughout the hotel
• Personally handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests
• Coordinate daily operations across FOH, Housekeeping, F&B, Spa, and Maintenance
• Lead the Brimstone experience, supporting host-led service and brand standards
• Oversee the planning and execution of meetings, events, and weddings
• Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring guest and staff safety during your shift
• Conduct property inspections and follow up on maintenance and presentation standards
• Maintain accurate shift logs and communicate clearly with senior management
