HR Systems Officer (contract 2 years)

Salary £30,000K plus 'excellent' holidays/pension/career study/relocation pkg (£10K)

Location: Hull (flexible hybrid working)

Our client, The University of Hull, is looking to recruit an experienced HR Systems Officer to cover maternity leave and work alongside a small friendly HR Systems IT team.

THE HR SYSTEMS TEAM

The HR Systems team, is a small experience team responsible for the management and development of the MyHR integrated HR and Payroll system and associated systems. The team is responsible for supporting and developing the system, and monitoring the integrity and accuracy of the data within it, supporting the wider university with effective business operations including supporting the HR function, payroll and management, absence management and management information including reporting for institution planning and forecasting, compliance management and statutory reporting.

THE ROLE:
The HR Systems Officer will provide the lead technical role within the team, coordinating all technical activities of the team around 3 key systems.

(iTrent HR/Payroll system (ensuring the system is performing at acceptable levels, installation and testing upgrades, reviewing new system functionality, user experience, and business needs of HR/Finance and the wider university, identifying opportunities and inefficiencies and providing advice to the Systems Manager on potential new developments and options for using the system to ensure improvements. Also using Microsoft Reporting Services (developing reports).

The HR Systems Officer will lead the provision of all technical support and problem resolution, ensuring a swift and efficient service to users, including fault diagnosis, test and problem solving, information and advice. Working in collaboration with software suppliers Midland/Stonefish where software errors occur. Coordination of assigning user access, security, build workflows, templates, and maintain all system configuration including global tables, user defined fields, pay elements and scales.

THE CANDIDATE:
Experience in using Midland iTrent software at advanced system administrator level, and Microsoft Reporting services

A detailed knowledge of HR and payroll services offering technical support

Can demonstrate accurate and formatted report writing utilising Microsoft Reporting Services

Can demonstrate the ability to identify and use a range of data, with the ability to combine various data types to produce reports and perform basic analysis.
