WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Business area introduction

Santander’s Corporate DCM Solutions team brings together the bank’s strategic advisory capabilities across a range of non-vanilla products (Liability Management, Corporate Hybrids and High Yield) within the Debt Capital Markets business

The team is responsible for the idea generation, structuring and execution of strategic debt financing transactions for our corporate and FIG clients across Europe, US and Latin America

We work in partnership with DCM origination, BCF, Syndicate, Debt Advisory and RSG teams to deliver value-added solutions for our clients’ needs, and support the origination of fixed income transactions

Key activities
- Developing innovative ideas and customised financing solutions for our Corporate and Institutional clients, in co-operation with the broader DCM platform and our partners across multiple products and geographies, providing content-led advice and expert execution capabilities
- Proactively supporting and contributing to all aspects of the origination and execution activity within the DCM Solutions business, with a particular focus on Liability Management
- Day to day activities will involve financial and credit analysis, researching and analysing companies, tracking primary and secondary bond market activity, developing client pitches, and participating in live deal execution, including taking part in meetings with clients, investors and external third parties (lawyers, rating agencies, etc.)
- As an associate in the team you will be fully involved in live deals, following the entire cycle from idea generation to strategy development, preparation and execution in the market

What we’re looking for
- Relevant work experience in DCM, Liability Management, Capital Solutions, Rating Advisory or equivalent role
- Solid understanding of capital markets, financial reporting, and fundamental credit analysis
- Hard working, proactive, solution-oriented mindset, attention to detail, ability to think critically and work both independently and in teams, delivering high quality output within tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner (both verbally and in writing)
Fluency in English is essential, other languages a plus
- CISI Regulatory, Securities and Derivatives Modules
- Strong communication skills, including ability to write in a clear and concise style
- Confidence to speak up with ideas, embrace change and seek innovative ways to improve existing processes
- Basic understanding of international debt capital markets desirableWhat else you need to know

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
