**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

**Business area introduction**

The Global Bond Syndicate desk has staff based in London, Madrid and New York and are responsible for pricing and executing bond issues for corporates, financial institutions, sovereign, supranational and agency issuers. Syndicate managers also play an active role in advising DCM colleagues and pitching these issuers for mandates to execute these deals and earn fees for the bank.

**Key activities**

Key activities of a Financial Institutions & Asset Backed Securities syndicate manager’s role:

- Execution of bond deals in the public markets, including working with DCM, FIG Banking, and the Securitisation team on transactions
- Working closely with trading, sales and investors to maintain a high level of market intelligence
- Preparation of trade ideas, provision of pricing indications and market updates as well as attending client meetings/pitches
- Organising roadshows, gathering feedback, bookbuilding, allocating & pricing
- The role requires good contacts within the market with other banks’ syndicate desks. The role sits on the private side of the business. The person will be exposed to confidential and potentially market moving information. The role expects to receive information from both the private side of the business (DCM) and public (Sales & Trading) to formulate ideas and strategy in order to advise borrowers on accessing the bond markets.
- Support the growth of the FIG & Securitisation platform by promoting SCIB abilities to a greater number of geographies and clients
- Provide cover for colleagues from other product areas within the syndicate function where necessary

**What we’re looking for**
- Extensive experience in the FIG business (syndicate or possible DCM, sales, or trading) ideally with strong existing relationships with some FIG issuers

**What else you need to know**

This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
