We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking for **Administrator** to join their team for an ongoing contract.
**_Start Date: ASAP_**
**_Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday_**
**_Pay Rate: £13.18 per hour_**
**Purpose of the Role**:
To contribute to the Business Units ability to comply with legislation, office practices, service standards, Council Policies and contractual obligations within the administration of Revenue and Benefits. To process Benefit Disputes, Appeals and discretionaryhousing payment requests and, where appropriate, prepare documentation for submission to the tribunal. To support the team on a day-to-day basis.
**Main Duties**:
1. To support the work of the business unit by maintaining an up to date knowledge of appropriate legislation, regulations and working practices.
2. To prepare legislative based documents on behalf of the Local Authority case for submission to the Appeals Service Tribunal where appeals cannot be resolved locally with the claimant.
3. To prepare legislative based documents on behalf of the Local Authority’s Council Tax Reduction decision for submission to the Valuation Tribunal.
4. Deal promptly and efficiently with requests for Discretionary Housing Payments including disputes.
5. Deal promptly and efficiently with disputes against Local Welfare Provision decisions.
7. Maintain appropriate working practices, record keeping and procedures in line with legislative requirements related to the appeals process.
8. To actively participate in the recruitment and selection process.
9. To contribute to the service centre performance targets by maintaining a high level of accuracy and input when processing information, to ensure quality of work is maintained.
10. To ensure that performance in terms of quality and output meets targets.
11. To deal promptly, efficiently and accurately with disputes/appeals against decisions in accordance with performance indicators.
12. To provide a high quality service by providing advice and information by written and electronic correspondence.
13. To provide cover for the Contact Centre and Customer Services Teams when required.
14. To liaise with Customers, their representatives, voluntary and professional bodies or Contractors as appropriate to the area of work.
15. To give guidance and support to lower graded staff where necessary.
16. To participate in the operation of the Council’s Appraisal Scheme.
17. It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with the Council's policy on equality and be sensitive and caring to the needs of the disadvantaged, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment. You should act as an exemplaron these issues and should identify and monitor training for yourself and any employees for whom you are responsible, in line with this policy and the Equality Act 2010.
18. Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Thematic Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes.
19. The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to the Council's policy, organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety at Work.
