We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking for a **Administrator**to join their team. **_Start Date: ASAP_** **_Pay rate: £11.02 per hour_** **Purpose of the Role**: To undertake a range of duties within Register Office and Bereavement Services. Primary functions of these services include registration of all births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships, and the provision of burial services, cremation services, memorials,exhumations, low cost funerals and wakes. **Main Duties**: - To carry out administration in areas specific to the delivery of these services in accordance with relevant legislation and regulation. - To liaise with other officers, organisations, families and businesses in respect of, ceremonies, funerals, burials, cremations, memorials, wakes and exhumations. - To process paperwork or the use of ICT administration systems to a daily deadline, and the production of legal documentation in connection with the services provided. - To act as Deputy Registrar, registering all births, stillbirths, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in Sandwell. - To act as Celebrant at various Civil Ceremonies and weddings at Highfields House and approved premises and council managed facilities within Sandwell. - To search historical indexes and registers, preparing certified copies of entries of birth, death or marriage certificates. - To meet, advise and support the bereaved on all aspects and services relating to their loss. - To account for and administer invoices for all aspects of services supplied by the Bereavement and Register Office Services. - To keep abreast of current practices and developments in the fields of Registration Services by the attendance of such courses, seminars, conferences, etc nominated by the Service Manager. - Cashiers duties using "ICON" cash receipting system, receiving cash, card and telephone payments. - To prepare correspondence, reports and notices as required. - Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the Thematic Area in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes. - To participate in the operation of the Council’s Appraisal Scheme. - To ensure that the Council’s administrative procedures, systems, standing orders and financial regulations are adhered to. - The duties allocated to this post are such that the employer may from time to time expect the post holder to co-operate in undertaking these duties outside normal working hours, in which case time off in lieu will be given. - Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post to assist the service in the fulfilment of its objectives commensurate with the post holder's salary grade, abilities and aptitudes. - It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with the Council's policy on equality and be sensitive and caring to the needs of the disadvantaged, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment. You should act as an exemplaron these issues and should identify and monitor training for yourself and any employees for whom you are responsible, in line with this policy and the Equality Act 2010. - The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to the Council's policy, organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety at Work.
