We need a project accountant initially on a temp basis to cover someone on sick leave and if they are good, longer term.
This maybe some who is not keen to go down the traditional finance manager report as more a commercial role.
Happy to pay £50k so may work for a confident part qualified accountant with some experience or a qualified accountant looking for a change.
Happy to train them up - if they are good with excel they can do the role.
Support for Project Works
During the lifetime of a Project, it will be necessary for the project accountant to support the Project Team for the preparation of key commercial deliverables, especially on larger, more complex projects where a detailed understanding of the Project Contractis required. This assistance may include some or all from the following non-exhaustive list:

- Preparation of Variation Orders
- Preparation of Early Warning Notices
- Preparation of supporting data for Invoicing
- Raising invoices
- Production of cost valuation reports
- Margin analysis per job
- Tracking of resources used by job
- Re-negotiation of the Contract for changing scope of work
- Interpretation of Contract Terms & Conditions
Reporting to the Management Team
In advance of the Management Meeting, held once a month, the project accountant will be required to:
1. Update the daily and total margin for all current projects comparing the margin estimated at the start of the project, the month to date margin and forecast margin to the end of the project.
2. Help update the Enquiry database with relevant information and present key data to the Senior Management Team at the Management Meeting, including New Enquiries, Lost Enquiries, Orders Won and other metrics developed from time to time.
The role requires the following basic competencies:
1. Organisational ability
2. Attention to detail for the review of Contract Terms
3. Ability to understand customer Enquiries.
4. Ability to generate a high quality response to customer Enquiries
6. Ability to manipulate and interpret data for presentation to Senior Management.
7. Confident telephone skills
8. Ability to work on their own and take initiative and work as part of a Project Team
